A small, narrow window is cut into the wall above our bed so when I look up at night, I can see the stars. Last night, as I crawled under the covers, I noticed the glowy moon was nearly halfway full, which means we’re nearly halfway through the month of October.
I usually share a pause with you at the beginning of the month, but the middle of the month is just as worthy of this sentiment. I pause all the time and encourage my clients to do the same. As I stir a stew in my new slow cooker, while I’m brushing my teeth, when I’m steadily sewing on my grandma’s old brown Singer, when the spark of the moon catches my eye after dark.
How are you noticing the season shifting around you? It’s cooling where I am, especially in the evenings and morningtime. The leaves haven’t changed color the way they would during my autumns in New York, but the desert shifts seasons in its own beautiful ways and I’m grateful to experience it without rush.
Wishing you mindful moments as the seasons shift. Wishing you moments of peace in a tumultuous time. Wishing you many quiet moments of pause in your days.
I’ll leave you with a few cute moments of pause around me lately …
PS - you can order a piece of my new textile project - a quilted tote! with a mini quilt pocket big enough for a book! - all of your own right here :)
