In my little desert studio sit three mugs and a teeny pinched dish, all dry and unfired. Nearly a month into my time here and that's all my hands have mustered to create. My inspiration well seems to have run dry. Until a few evenings ago, at four in the morning, when the universe shook me from my sleep with a three-hour funnel of ideas and insight and hope.
I’m not sure how it found me. Maybe it was finally listening to all my tools that have been telling me to quiet down and rest - it was in the middle of a silent slumber that it found me, after all. Maybe it was finally hitting send on an email I’ve been dreading, closing the door on an opportunity I thought might be fruitful, allowing fresh space for inspiration to flow free and strong. However it happened, I am grateful it is here and I am listening closely, taking copious notes. I know there’s more quiet reflection ahead of me, but I am ready for abundance when it’s ready for me.
With the onset of a new month, I want to check in, as I tend to do. How did your intention from last month manifest itself? What are you feeling for the month ahead? Take a moment - right now! - to consider an intention you’d like to embody in the coming weeks. Enjoy a deep breath, maybe close your eyes, let the fresh month sink into you. Allow your intention to surprise you. Ponder what you’d like to call in this month, and what you would like to release.
My intention for February is patience. While I’ve had to practice patience in excess lately, I’m feeling the need to gather more strength for patience in the coming weeks. I’m working to release fear around uncertainty and gracefully calling in abundance and warmth.
Wishing us all a moment for reflection.
May we release what is no longer serving us, and call our deepest desires into our lives.
PS - I’m always working on slowing down and mindfulness is one of the ways I do that. So! I created a beautiful workbook to gently guides others through a week of different mindfulness practices! Made especially for busy humans, it was a labor of love and I’m so excited to share it with the world - for free! You can download it here, if you’d like - enjoy slowing down :)
